Seawater is, in a sense, the most dilute mineral deposit on Earth. Nearly every element that dissolves ends up in it eventually — but at concentrations so low that only living organisms, over long generations of filter feeding and uptake, manage to gather them into usable quantities.
Eata Marisource works with that biology. Our trace mineral range brings together the three routes the marine world offers: iodine and mineral-rich seaweed, the concentrated mineral complex of oyster meat, and the broad mineral profile of seawater itself. Each is processed into a dry powder with its mineral content documented per lot — and each can be adjusted toward the profile your project is built around.
The Trace Mineral Range
Four working formats cover the requests we receive most often. Treat the list as a starting point — every line can be tailored to a target specification.

Three Routes to Marine Minerals
The seaweed route. Brown seaweeds like Saccharina japonica draw iodine and other minerals from seawater into their thallus. Dried and milled whole, they become a carrier-free powder — in commercial kelp powders, naturally occurring iodine is typically present in the range of 0.01–0.05%, alongside magnesium, potassium and the plant’s own fiber matrix. For projects that need a defined level, standardized extracts at 1% iodine are also available.
The shellfish route. Oysters concentrate more than zinc. Oyster meat extract carries a genuine trace-mineral suite — zinc and copper, with naturally occurring selenium and iodine — and, because the material is dried with care, the mineral profile travels with the protein matrix rather than being stripped out.
The seawater route. At the other end of the spectrum sits seawater itself. Concentrated and dried, it yields a broad-spectrum mineral material in which calcium and magnesium lead and a wide range of trace elements follow — a multi-mineral starting point that no single mined salt can imitate.

From Ocean to Fine Powder
The route is short but carefully controlled. Seaweed is harvested from managed waters, washed, dried and milled to a defined particle size — whole kelp powder typically runs from 80 to 200 mesh. Where a standardized level is needed, the material moves to extraction and concentration to bring iodine or the mineral of interest to its target value. Oyster meat follows its own path: gentle drying preserves the natural mineral suite, and the dried material is milled to a fine powder. Seawater concentrates are produced by controlled evaporation and concentration, leaving the mineral profile intact.

Traceability, in Both Senses
- The name fits the product. Marine trace minerals are traceable in the chemical sense — measured per lot — and in the supply-chain sense: species, growing area and intake records follow every batch.
- Analysis, not assertion. Iodine, zinc, copper, selenium, magnesium, calcium and the heavy-metal panel are quantified per lot; the Certificate of Analysis states the measured values.
- Production under recognized frameworks. ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and HACCP-based systems, with Halal and Kosher certification available on request.
- Documentation that ships with the goods. COA, MSDS, certificates of origin and allergen statements are assembled with every order.

Built to Your Mineral Target
Most projects in this category arrive with a specific question: a target iodine level, a particular mineral ratio, a particle size, a matrix to build around. Tell us the profile you need — we will prepare samples toward it, confirm the mineral content, and scale production so the bulk material matches the sample you approved.
